Our mission and how we work

Vim and Vigour exists to strengthen performance where it is often overlooked, in how athletes and high pressure performers think, decide and respond under pressure.

I provide specialist one to one performance coaching focused on confidence, clarity, competitive intent and decision making. This work sits alongside physical training and technical coaching. I do not replace coaches. I strengthen the mental side of performance so the physical work shows up when it counts.

​

My core mission is to support developing and high potential athletes who have the ability to progress but are being held back by confidence gaps, pressure, hesitation or internal doubt.

​

Many of the athletes I work with are supported through business funded patronage. This allows organisations to directly support an athlete’s development by funding their performance coaching. It gives athletes access to specialist support without adding financial strain during important development stages.

 

For businesses, this provides a clear and practical way to support performance and contribute to the development of future sporting talent.

I work with competitive and developing athletes who want to unlock more of their potential and gain a stronger mental edge in competition.

​

Most of the athletes I support already have the physical ability and technical coaching in place, but their performance is not yet matching their true capability.

 

Pressure, doubt and hesitation are often the gap between training performance and competition results.

Our work focuses on how you think, decide and respond before, during and after performance.

 

Sessions are one to one and tailored to the athlete, with practical tools that can be applied immediately in training and competition.

This approach has already helped athletes improve competition times, rankings and results by strengthening confidence, clarity and decision making under pressure.

 

This is not motivation work. This is performance preparation built to convert potential into measurable performance.

 

Athlete support can be self funded or supported through business patronage and organisational partnerships.

FOR ORGANISATIONS AND BUSINESSES

I work with organisations and businesses who want to support performance in a practical and measurable way.

My role is to strengthen how athletes and high pressure performers think, decide and respond under pressure, so their training and ability show up more consistently in results.

​

I work independently alongside existing coaches, training teams and leadership structures. I do not replace what is already in place. I strengthen the mental side of performance so the full investment in physical and technical development delivers more return.

​

Some organisations choose to fund one to one performance coaching for selected athletes through a patronage model. This means the business directly supports the athlete’s mindset and performance development over an agreed period.

​

This gives athletes access to specialist performance support without added financial strain, and gives businesses a direct and meaningful way to contribute to measurable performance progress.

​

Support can be structured around individual athletes, small performance groups, or development pathways.

What we believe

Performance is built from the inside, not added at the end.

Mental strength, decision making and pressure response are trainable skills, not personality traits.

​

Physical ability does not guarantee competitive performance. How an athlete thinks and responds under pressure often decides the outcome.

​

Support should strengthen what already exists. Coaching should work alongside technical and physical training, not compete with it.

​

Ambition is not arrogance. Wanting to win is honest.

​

Performance support should be practical, measurable and applied, not motivational talk.

​

Developing talent properly requires the right support at the right time.
